Last post I saw from the creator was late November. It was basically just stating that they are still working on the game and that it's a large update and that they'll have more time to work on the game after holidays.

just checked patron and the latest development update was October 14 which was titled Development Update #31 so I guessing that there is still some work but I don't really know.

I had no idea it was gonna take this long to make, so while I do still maintain "It's done when it's done", I definitely understand why cyberpunk came out in the state it did, and that game was an entirely different scale.
As for the update, I can't claim there's any specific reason for it taking so long like being sick or whatever, it's just how long it's taking me to make it. Only so many hours in the day, and that can vary for any number of reasons. One reason I don't do more frequent progress updates is I feel I'd be repeating myself with this specific update because I'm having to make so many versions of the same scene. Such is branching. Admittedly there have been a number of irl disruptions to the process, but nothing too crazy. It's up to each of you whether you're happy with that or not. The main point is that the game is still being worked on, and the update WILL be released as soon as I can. I look forward to never making an update this complicated again. I don't 100% know whether it'll be out before the end of the year, but that's what I'm aiming for. I don't expect to come back to discord until the update is actually finished, since that's pretty much my sole focus right now. Once it's done though, I'll come back and see what's up. Thank you for your continued support despite my lack of communication for like half this year.
Also I think iru (Discord mod for those who don't know) sent out a message on Discord to pesky gnome and above subs to remind me of their chosen item. I haven't responded to anyone doing that yet, but I will. Same with any outstanding custom render stuff from before that was cancelled. I will get to it, but the priority is the update. I gotta go for Christmas stuff in like 30 mins, but I'm gonna try to go through messages until then. (Not discord though because I have an absurd amount of notifications there. I'll have to go through them once I have more time.)
Few hours in and it feels like the real story's just beginning. Sometimes, it's a bit cheesy, but regardless, the vast amount of effort put into this project is clear as day.
The Director is, by far, my favorite character so far. Immersion factor 10/10. I've lost count of how many times I've blurted out, "What the fuck?" and "Really?" in perfect sync with MC's inner monologue.
One super small issue I have with the MC's logic is that he has supernatural aspects about him, but doesn't believe in ghosts? Also there's quite a few bugs, but it probably comes with the territory as this is probably the most I've ever seen RenPy's limits stretched.
Either way, really glad this exists! Enjoying it a lot so far and can't wait to play more.
As a person who struggles with anxiety and feels 'bad' when being 'forced' to commit BDSM, I really, REALLY appreciate the way Stormside handles this with multiple routes. With the romance routes, I feel like I am legitimately 'saving' the girls from crueler punishments and can enjoy the story and the (romantic) relationships that develop.
Note: I am notjudging anyone who appreciates those routes or who enjoys BDSM. This is purely based on my personal preferences.
Am I the one stuck at a very beginning part???? After the conversation with Cassie after the "sex", there is a text message conversation with Dad, then after the conversation, my game seems bugged, the only thing I can do is to click for the phone function, and don't seems that there is any message I miss. Ps. Solved, seems that the only way is to start a completely new save
This happened to me a couple times when trying to scroll up and the game got confused between scrolling the phone screen and returning to previous screen. Was able to flip back and forth a few times and scrolled "back" until it let me through.

I am very excited about this game. A captivating story from the start that gets under your skin. Superbly beautiful images and animations and very understandable English texts. A work of art in this genre. Thanks for this diamond in my game collection.
Everything from the little dev blurbs and jokes to the actual dialogue in this is great. The small things that really bring out a personality like Hikari and thunder or Sasha and being so fit for her "job". At first I though this was just gonna be like The Headmaster, but I much prefer how this is done.
Love this. Many funny moments. Kind of like those developer notes. I can feel all the effort on this game, and I really appreciate the in game walk-through. The developer must be an interesting person. Hope we can get an update soon.
I've liked what little I've seen (one scene each with Riley+Cassie & the two 2nd-year girls). I don't see presence or absence as impacting the overall story much either way, not with the greater issues of [what are the companies behind this really trying to accomplish?], [should Our Hero help advance these goals wholeheartedly or sabotage them?], [what do ghosts have to do with anything else?], and of course the cliffhanger regarding some element of Our Hero's past apparently resurfacing.
Will there ever be an android version or is there some way to convert it from to one's u have to android? I get ite a frequently asked question but I see no answers on this matter.
This and all other visual novel games can be played on android using joiplay and renpy plugin. i played this on android 9 using joiplay. it run smoothly.
This is such a well made game. Looks like there's still lots of story left to discover. The only feedback I'd like to give is for the texting. When you get a text, it doesn't show who texted you, so it can get kind of tiring to click every single name until you find the correct person.
In fairness, it does show you this unless it bugged out. The person who texted you should have a blue tint to their bubble thing. However, I plan to make it so that the most recent texts show up at the top of the list when you go into the contacts menu, but I don't know 100% whether this will go into the coming update. I'm still working on the content at the moment rather than quality of life features. It's been like 9 months since the last update or something, so I mostly just wanna get the update released asap, but cutting corners isn't something I'd feel comfortable with.
As far as I know, it should just work. I'm not a mac guy so I don't know the specifics, but based on the number of downloads, and lack of comments about how it doesn't work, I'd suggest it's more to do with your system than it is about the game itself. Sorry man. Maybe antivirus blocking it? That can happen with renpy games sometimes.
I have no idea to be honest. Ren'py lets you just make a mac version, and that's what I've uploaded. I truly have no idea how games work on mac, but I assume there's some way since the mac version has been downloaded thousands of times, so I'd assume that if it didn't work I'd probably get more comments about this. Do you have any issues running other AVNs on your machine? It should work basically the same as any ren'py based game.
DUDE! What happened. Did you abandon Stormside? I just found it, and am loving it. But it looks like you aren't working on it anymore. You should at least send something out to let people know what's going on.
Just finished version 0.23 for the first time today and all I can say is wow. This game is amazing. The animations are some of the best I've ever seen. The writing is exceptional, these characters are memorable and they way they talk feels real. I also liked the developers little interjections here and there, even those were insightful and funny. The amount of choices and diverging paths can be a little overwhelming at first but it really stacks up to be the keystone system of the game and I think the developer has handled it very well. There is even a handy walkthrough option in game that give you a run down of each choice as it come up.
I love this game and I eagerly await for the next update.

Yeah so I'm definitely still working on it, as the other guy said. Long development cycle as it's been a crazy year and this isn't my full time job, but if it ever actually gets abandoned, it'll be displayed very clearly on every page over which I have control, and the patreon will be shut down. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I was was taking money to pretend to work on an updated. Next update is coming, and it's not a small one.
Man, ive played a few of these renpy games and most of the time you get either one of the two (good animation or good writing but you managed to combine both in a stellar way.
I really like your way of writing the story&girls, each has their own vibe which is nicely portrayed and the animations (porn ones and general slice-of-life ones) are fun and kinetic. Im really looking forward and will be coming back to this one when its further along :)
Thanks man. The entire point of the game was that for me it was hard to connect with characters in games which had good sexual content for various reasons, and also the characters I was able to connect with existed in games which in my opinion had not so great sexual content. I can't speak for the quality of the writing since I basically just write whatever feels good for me, since this game is made for me. If it turns out you like the way I'm doing it, then that's fantastic too. More to come.

I didn't realize this would lead to BDSM stuff. Too much for me. Good graphics though.
The game has multiple routes. If you stick to the romance routes for each character, you should be able to avoid that.

You can play it with Joiplay and the renpy plugin, takes like 2 minutes and you are good to go. Can also play many other games that way.

the loading screen pops but then it disappears and thats it no intro screen or anything

The permissions on the embedded executable are wrong.
In the terminal, type:
chmod +x Stormside.app/Contents/MacOS/Stormside
You may need to prepend your path, e.g.,
chmod +x /Applications/Stormside.app/Contents/MacOS/Stormside
