this is all am getting

Fixed in next update. You can press ignore for now.

i cant play it cos of that

Does it not give you a button that says "ignore" in the bottom left during the error? Normally this would be the case. It's just a typo in the filepath for the music track, so pressing ignore should just mean you can keep playing the scene, but without music. (The music then returns in the next scene.)

I’ve noticed what looks like strange FOV issues in some of the renders. Character faces will be sorta stretched oddly. Is this something you’re aware of?

(+1)

Yeah, this mostly happens early on, but can particularly happen with Riley and Taliya. For some reason their head models literally change shape if you angle them certain ways, and there isn't a whole lot I can do about it aside from just not angle that way. Unfortunately, Riley does occasionally need to look to the left so I kinda just go with it unless it's particularly egregious. The FOV thing near the start is really just down to me having no idea what I was doing back then. I'd say day 11 is the point where I finally felt like I knew what I was doing, and  it marks the start of the base standard I want for the rest of the game. There's a bit of a jump up in animation quality at that point I think.

I don't plan to go back to change these things unless I do a remaster or something at some point, but I don't have plans to do that unless I could afford to pay someone else to do it, since it would take a lot of time away from development of the new stuff. The new stuff is what my paid supporters are paying me for, so I have to align my priorities accordingly really.

One day though perhaps. There are some fairly significant render and animation improvements I could make to the start, it's really just a question of finding the time to do it. Guess this is what happens when you just kinda wake up one day and think "Imma make a porn game" without any notion of how that's actually done lol.

How to play the game on android? Help me please...

(+2)

This one is pretty easy suprisingly. You need to download JoiPlay for android. They you download the Ren'ply Plug in for joiplay. Download the pc version of the game and then add the game to joiplay. I have attached the Patreon for JoiPlay below. NOTE: you don't have to purchase anything there is a free option so you can get the downloads. NOTE 2: this app works for more than Ren'ply games.

https://www.patreon.com/joiplay/posts

Thanks, it's worked.

you're very welcome. You can play a bunch of pc games on Joiplay.

(1 edit)

I'm constantly crashing after the it starts going to the Riley basement punishment screen after the gym workout?

Couldn't find file 'audio/music/basementfloor.ogg'

(+1)

this is fixed in the next update, but for now you can just press ignore on it. It's because the filepath has a space in it and it isn't supposed to. It means you'll have to play the scene without music, but if you don't care about that then the music will return at the end of the scene.

Good to know, Thank you!

Any idea why I can't turn off the lesbian block on settings? it doesn't seem to be working =/

and I'm referring to no spice please. the off button doesn't work for m

Do you mean for a save file that you already turned it on for? The way it works is that once you enable it for a save file, that's it, that save is purged, even if you disable the setting again.

I mostly made it that way because due to exactly what that setting does, it's not something anyone who would actually be using it would want to toggle on and off generally. It's not a setting I would recommend for many people, even those who don't want to see lesbian scenes. I may change it so that it doesn't permanantly affect saves in the next update though, since I mostly made it this way to kinda parody the absurdity of the setting.

I started a save with it on then I deleted my saves to start a fresh one with it off and it wouldn't let me switch it off for some reason.. right now, no matter what I do, including deleting the entire game folder and re-unzipping, it won't let me switch it off..

Hmmm, that's an odd one. Do you mean that even in the options menu the button itself doesn't react to you clicking it?

Yep, it lights up but doesn't switch at all.

Please make android version i wanna play this game in phone not PC

This is up there with once in a lifetime. Exceptional game

Bota o jogo para Android também

Why is this getting flagged as malware?

ren'py games always get flagged as malware, no they're not viruses, just ignore that lol, not sure why, but they are treated the same way cracked games are by ur pc

noted good sir. have a good day

although I would suggest being careful if you use anything other then itch for avns, itch is the actual dev but on f95zone for example it's often others posting, so be careful as recently some malware and keyloggers have surfaced with some games (removed now but still a possible threat in future)

After update i cant open my old saves. i got this error

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

Stormside v0.23.1.4

This is fixed in the next update, but for now I have a patch for it.

https://mega.nz/file/78VnmC6D#Qbc-_toT-YCXM1AV3hXpGBsiap4CdlCkluWYIsnJlVc

Drag the renpy folder from this onto the existing one in the game. It should replace 2 files. Saves should work fine after that.

So far, so good. Enjoying the story and content and look forward to what comes next

This seems like an AMAZING game.
Unfortunately, many many many of us will never know.
The only links to this game are for MEGA and GDRIVE.
MEGA has a 5GB transfer limit if you don't have an account unless you want to jump through all kinds of hoops.
GDRIVE hardly EVER WORKS.    So its unfortunate that so many wont even get a chance to try it.  Damn.   Really sucks.  :\

I wanted to try as well, but hit this wall too.

Will a fetish list ever be made? Would be nice to know if certain things will be in the game

(3 edits)

I am just here to thank Atemsiel for making this game.  It took me a whole 5 minutes to decide I wanted to support the game 😄.  There are so many reasons that I could never list them all but let me just say that the story, the animations, the renders, the humor, the music and sound effects all make this one of the funnest games I ever played.  And I cannot believe that I had to come to itch to find the Linux version.  Later I found the same thing was on Patreon.  I can be so dense sometimes.  Added at the last minute.  How come no matter how I search, this game never comes up on itch?  I had to find an external link.  I have also found an unexpected side effect of playing this game.  Now all other games seem boring 😒.

is there going to be a android port ? or it's not a option ? in the future .

Hey, what do you use for the renders? Some other games with a similar visual style seem to use Honey Select 2 or some modification of it it seems. I want to know for sure before I bother to obtain a totally legal and legitimate copy of it. I have been wanting to try my hand at making a visual novel (or any game for that matter) for a bit.

(+3)

Yep, it's all honey select 2, though I do sometimes incorporate photoshop as well, mostly just to fix visual glitches and stuff. If you decide to try your hand at it, be sure to get one of the precompiled modpacks for it, since totally default HS2 has almost nothing in it in terms of maps, clothes, etc. Be warned, these packs can be like 250gb in size, but they're basically essential if you wanna make a VN, so you kinda have to just bite the bullet if you really wanna explore what you might be able to do. I'd also recommend joining the Illusion discord once you've got it downloaded and installed, as that's probably the best place to get new mods as they're released. There's a special channel there for it where you can see what mod creators are releasing to the public, and from there if you find a specific modder who makes a lot of stuff you like, there are links to where you can support them if you choose to. It's a pretty chill setup.

Good luck with whatever you have planned :D

Hey, was just wondering if game's still making progress or if it will stay at 0.23.1.4 vers here on itch.io  ? I really love the game and I'm eagerly waiting for the next update but I know that you're a human person and have a life on the side and all. Just a genuine question.

A player from FR.

(+4)

Yep, the game isn't abandoned, it just takes me a while to make the content for it. I'm hoping to have 0.23.2 released for supporters at the end of May, but I don't know yet whether I'll be able to stick to that. We shall see. Lots to do.

Totally understandable, you game is clearly a high tier, graphics, character, gameplay, story, I like a lot of things in Stormside an will cross my fingers for you to find enough time motivation and succeed in what you do anb in this game ! Will eagerly wait for any update or post ^^

(+1)

Tbh it's way shorter then I thought, but I do think this is one of the most well made game I've played

(+1)

I appreciate that. The length comes from the branching really, purely because I like that kinda thing. In terms of word count I think it's actually fairly long, but you will only ever experience like 30% of the game in a single playthrough, but this is by design. Despite this kinda being the opposite of what most AVN players want, this game is intended for multiple playthroughs.

(Though I wouldn't recommend anyone do them back to back. More just like, revisit it every now and then and try doing things differently to see what happens. There are some events that occur in all cases, and it's no fun to just play the same thing over and over.)

I'm confused with the size of this game I figured I'd get more story but I only got a couple hours, when the MC walks into the bathroom for the spray paint text is that actually the last scene? Or am I missing something, I also didn't get to do anything more then 3 punishments which is ok but I'd figure there would've been more?

( Not complaining I love the story, just curious if I missed a couple missions)

Yep, there's a fairly simple reason for this. One of the primary focuses of the game is choice and branching. Each of the 7 main girls have 3 potential routes you can take with them, and so the filesize comes from making content across all those routes. Even within the routes there is still variation in what can happen based on your choices, and so whilst a single playthrough isn't all that long, the game is designed for those who like to try doing things in multiple different ways. I'm aware that the vast majority of AVN players prefer to get pretty much everything in one playthrough, but the vast majority of AVNs are already built for that, so I intend this one to be different.

Eventually, the plan is that it will be a decent overall length, but within that length there is actually a fairly stupid amount of content. Working towards that goal already puts it at close to 400k words, almost 1000 animations, and over 10k renders, so by the time it's done it should be certifiably massive. (Though it will appear normal length for anyone who only plays it once.)

If you've only played through it once, then there is likely quite a lot of the game you haven't seen. A good example of this is the end of Riley's party thing. There are 4 different ways that can end, and so there are I think 5 different versions of the morning scene the following day, 4 of which being around 30-40 minutes long (If you read at a similar speed to me.)

Luckily, if you basically just want to unlock all the scenes, there's a gallery unlocker at the end of each update that will fully unlock the gallery and let you see what you missed. It only works for the sex scenes though, so anything you missed outside of sex scenes won't be unlocked.

Thank you, I play the game on android so it's not at all easy to fin games that are good enough to download for that size if you know what I mean... But so far this Avn is totally worth it

I thank you kindly for your time and explanation.

Well luckily I plan to release all updates as patches, so you shouldn't have to redownload the entire game every time. I have no idea how that works for android, but if that still works then there's that I suppose. I'm glad you're enjoying the game :D I do my best to keep the filesize down but despite the average length of a single playthrough, it's actually quite a large VN in terms of assets.

(+2)

Will there be impreg?

Possibly as an ending, but I don't plan to include it just for the sake of the fetish. It has fairly massive story implications, so I can't really just include it on a whim.

(+1)

Are there plans in the future to make the downloads compatible with the Itch.io app?

Yes, probably after the next update release.

Thank you for the update :)

Hey @Atemsiel, I just wanted to let you know of an error I ran into in version .23.1.4, just after making the bet with Akemi and headed to meet Riley in the basement. I don't know the best way of letting you know of the issue.

I'm getting:   IOError: Couldn't find file 'audio/Music/BasementFloor.ogg '.

Not sure how much that helps... let me know if you need a copy of the log and the best way to get it over to you. Ignoring it allowed me to continue, so not a huge deal as its just a compressed audio file.

Looking forward to the next update, we got left with a big cliffhanger and anxious to see who exactly these people are and where the story goes!

Hey, sorry, just saw this. I'm aware of this bug and it's been fixed for the next version. It's basically because there's a space at the end of the filepath, and there isn't supposed to be.

Thanks for letting me know though, it's important that people report bugs even if they've been reported before, as you never know whether or not you're the first to report something.

No worries man, I'm happy to help out however I can.

this is one of the  most intriguing AVN's ive played and was really sad when it ended in the bathroom scene on a cliff hanger but I'm really exited to play the game with more of the quirky Russian girl and get the shit scared out of me by a ghost (again) love this game keep it up. :)

Tbh I'm having a difficult time trying to download this, maybe it's my laptop, or maybe it's the link itself. Kinda disappointing but I'll try again sometime

Any plans for an android version?

(1 edit)

I have a question if anyone has the answer, I just finished the game and checked gallery and i understand some scenes are locked behind sub, romance and slave but what about the other scenes? I feel like i would of got more scenes unless they arent added into the story and only available for gallery. For example when i played i decided to make sasha submissive but there are several more scenes in gallery that i didnt obtain.

(+2)

Yep, so the reason for this is that the branching isn't just a case of picking a route for each girl. Some routes have additional choices within them that can lead to different content. Using Sasha as the example, you can make her submissive and you get content associated with that, but what if you didn't get to punish her after the first ghost hunt? In which case, you get a different scene if you choose to punish her later on. It's that kinda thing. I do this because I like choice in games, but I know not everybody has the time to go through a game multiple times to get everything, so you can unlock all scenes at the end of the game if you really want.

how to update(step by step pls)

Anyone know the app that allows u to play these PC versions on android

(+1)

Joiplay

Ahh thank you, much appreciated!

Hey i played this through a few months back and when i finished it i unlocked the whole gallery but now i want to play through it again and want to aim for different things in the gallery, how do i delete my save file to start a new?

Great game man! when is 0.24 coming out??

(+1)

God damn this game made we laugh too much. You hit the right balance with the humor and timing of some silly situations in this game.

(2 edits) (+5)

I'd really like to play this, but the downloads keep failing.

I gave up trying to get the file from Mega after a handful of attempts (their service has really gone downhill lately for me in general) and I've tried over a dozen times to download it from Google, but it fails prematurely every time.

(EDIT 4/09/2024: See my reply comment.)

Any chance you can upload to MediaFire as an alternative? (https://www.mediafire.com/)

They're very reliable and have been around forever. I never have any trouble using their service for downloads. Even really large files download perfectly on the first attempt for me.

Yes I don't know if I tried google drive already somewhere else, but  i don't like when it tells me it can't check whatever it tries to check from a download.

On closer inspection, it seems Mediafire has a max 2GB file size limit for free accounts, so that might not be viable.

Pixeldrain (https://pixeldrain.com/) is another service I have seen other AVN devs use as an alternative to Google and Mega, and they allow up to 20GB files, no account required.

I have downloaded successfully from them in the past, so that might be an option you could look into at least for public releases.

Love the detail in the options for the "British" unit type, A+ game just for that dumb joke.

(+1)

Also please never change the scribbled curfew scene, that was too funny.

(+5)(-2)

I would like to give some unsolicited feedback.

First of all, I like the game. I can feel the enthusiasm and creativity put into making it. I only just finished the first ghost event and BOY do I have a lot to say up until this point.

My major qualm as a software developer is the following: if you have time to write tens of lines of text to explain that your code is bad, you should spend that time learning how to make your code bad. If you have to tell me that scroll doesn't work because it causes bugs, don't tell me that - disable scrolling altogether. There were more instances of this, but this one was the biggest by far.

My second issue is as a game designer: Let your gameplay explain what you want the player to do. Ghost hunt sequence was painful in this regard. it first gave me a whole bunch of text to read, then let me skip out of it. Some objects that are interactable make a noise, others don't (like the bones). Books are the same color as the background, so they were often invisible. Also, if I want to open a map, I have to open a book and then click twice to the right. Why isn't a map a button by itself? There is a metric butload of great videos on this topic as well as programing, I heartily recommend it.

Lastly, as a consumer, the whole product feels underbaked. So many features feel uncomplete. When I see so many uncompleted features in the first few hours of playing, I expect to see even more going forward.

I will now give an advice, out of my best intention for you to expand as a game maker. Make a todo list of all the bugs and missing/half-done features and start working through it. If you have a time budget for game development, dedicate a significant chunk of that time to this (e.g. 30% of time or 1/3 days, whatever works for you). If you are unsure in what order to tackle things, ask for advice, I'm sure someone will be willing to help (myself included). And then just start doing them. Take one item from the list and do it until you finish it or realize you cannot finish it without adding more things to the todo list. And just keep doing this as long as you need to. This will help you develop your skills immensely and it will be a boon going forward because you will learn how to avoid making mistakes in the future and you will start pumping out features and content even faster.

I wish you all the luck and I can't wait to see what this project turns into! Good job!

Riley is best gurl, Cassie is super close second
